One of the best ways to begin bodybuilding is to set forth a regime in which to follow. This will help you identify your goals and how to go about achieving them. For starters, it is recommended that you have a complete physical and have your doctor check on the basics before pursuing your vision. Keep in mind this entails more than just physical endurance; be prepared for the mental challenges as well.

Next on the list is to determine where you want to do your workouts. If you prefer the neighborhood gym, then you will find the free weights as well as some of the standard equipment, such as variable resistance machines. Free weights are the most inexpensive, time proven method of training. It is recommended that you don't join an expensive gym right off the bat. Most gyms require a contract, and if this gym doesn't give you what you need, then you will be stuck.

You may want to do your workouts at home. In doing so, you avoid unnecessary expenses, and you don't need to go anywhere. Keep in mind that with this method will need to constantly motivate yourself. Many people require having to drive to a specific place for a specific reason in order to be motivated. Another problem is you might not have a spotter to help you when needed.
